Kammann. Can!
Whoa! We’ve fired our last shot of our (old) powder.
It’s high time to reload with our Powder Coating 2.0.
Conventional powder coating has been a proven method for about seven decades – helping to increase the durability and resistance of piping systems while enhancing their appearance. So far, so good. But at KMH, development certainly didn’t stop there.
Now it’s time to reload – with our “Powder Coating 2.0”: Our new-generation powder coating doesn’t just make our piping systems more resistant – it combines multiple functions in a single surface.
One surface. Multiple functions. More performance.
Things are getting saferer at KMH. Let’s go!

Piping systems with “Powder Coating 2.0” – now available at KMH!
First of all, we owe you an apology. For all the secrecy.
The improved materials and processes we’ve been intensively developing and refining over the past few years are now officially being introduced by KMH. And of course, we’re happy to share them with our customers – but no one else.
Things are getting saferer at KMH: Our new in-house powder coating, in a color similar to RAL 7032, does more than just “protect”. Optimized corrosion protection² meets high electrical conductivity¹ and FDA compliance³ – all integrated into one functional surface.
The practical advantage: The integrated conductivity can eliminate the need for additional grounding tabs and similar components on the piping system¹, when the overall system is designed accordingly. So, what’s in it for you?
- Reduced amount of individual components needed
- More efficient installation times
- Easier cleaning
- Simpler, more streamlined system planning
and ultimately, a simpler and more efficient installation process.

Developed for …
… and, in general, for anyone who requires equipotential bonding or simply wants to play it safe.
+ Our best conductivity yet¹
- Integrated instead of attached: the conductivity is already built into the new KMH powder coating – making grounding clips and similar components unnecessary for appropriately designed systems¹
- The result for your piping system: fewer components, fewer contact points and shorter installation times
- The conductive piping system¹ makes your steps easier – from planning and procurement to installation and cleaning
+ Corrosion protection² that lasts.
- For long-term system performance: specially developed for urban and industrial environments
- 7 to 15 years of corrosion protection², depending on environmental conditions and operating conditions
- Successfully passed various durability tests, including condensation water and salt spray tests
+ FDA Compliance³
- For the food industry: compliant with the high requirements of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)³
- All internal coatings of components featuring our Powder Coating 2.0 comply with 21 CFR 175.300³
+ REACH Compliance⁴ and more
- For transparency and planning certainty: contains no substances of very high concern (SVHC) listed under REACH, according to the supplier⁴
- Temperature resistance up to 100°C
A small translation note from our database: Our Powder Coating 2.0 is – surprise! – actually a powder coating, not a primer.
The properties stated for our new powder coating, also called “Powder Coating 2.0”, apply exclusively to the version in a color similar to RAL 7032 and are stated in comparison with our previous powder coating. The specified properties apply exclusively to factory-coated, undamaged surfaces. Subsequent processing, mechanical damage, welding, drilling, grinding or other modifications may affect or impair the corrosion protection and conductive properties or render them ineffective. The conformity statements refer exclusively to the coating used. Suitability must be assessed separately for each specific application. Responsibility for the suitability of the complete system in the specific application remains with the operator or plant manufacturer.
¹ Conductivity: The coated piping systems meet the requirements for dissipative materials as defined by IEC/TS 60079-32-1:2013+AMD1:2017 and TRGS 727:2016. Provided that the metallic pipe bodies are permanently and securely connected to the equipotential bonding system with a resistance of ≤ 1 MΩ, they also meet the requirements of the aforementioned regulations for use in potentially explosive atmospheres, including in the presence of highly charge-generating processes. Conductivity depends on the respective coating thickness and is specified in accordance with the applicable KMH factory standard. Deviations may occur at suspension points. In practice, conductivity must always be verified before use by the operator or plant manufacturer using a suitable measuring device.
² Corrosion protection: The stated corrosion protection applies exclusively to exterior surfaces and does not apply to add-on components (e.g. flanges, tabs) or functional moving parts. It may vary depending on accessibility and material thickness. The achievable protection period of 7–15 years depends on the respective environmental conditions, maintenance and individual exposure and may therefore vary. This specification applies exclusively to catalogue „standard“ items. Custom designs are subject to the individually agreed specifications.
³ FDA compliance: The coating used meets the requirements for the intended food contact application based on the available supplier declarations and test documentation. The suitability of the complete system for the specific application must be assessed before use by the operator or plant manufacturer.
⁴ REACH compliance: For all products supplied to KMH, our supplier confirms that no substance from the REACH Candidate List (SVHC) is used in the formulation (status: 24 May 2024). The applicable overall migration limit pursuant to Article 12(1) of Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011 was met in the first migration test.
